Production takes six weeks from the day your order is placed and paid. Freight then takes 4 to 8 business days. Every standard model is cast to order for you in Salem, Oregon. If you need it sooner, three-week production is available on standard models for 35% above list price (it can’t be combined with the trade discount). A hearth ordered with your surround is made in the same six weeks and ships with it, with no added freight. Lead time and freight for exterior pieces are quoted with each order. Six weeks fits most rough-in schedules.

Yes. Every standard model and custom commission ships nationwide via FedEx Freight, crated and palletized to your project dimensions. Freight takes 4 to 8 business days after pickup from our Salem facility and is free on standard models in the contiguous 48 states, curbside with a liftgate. Remote, island or limited-access addresses may need a freight quote. Signature required at delivery, and we call ahead so the receiver is on-site.

In-person installation is a paid concierge add-on anywhere from Eugene to Portland (including Vancouver, Washington) and from Bend to the Oregon coast. Outside that area, we coordinate directly with the homeowner's general contractor or the trade partner's installer. Every order comes with our install guide, the finish kit and phone support while you install. Most general contractors install a standard surround in three to five hours with two to three installers.

Our spec sheets estimate each surround at about 150 to 470 lb, depending on the model and size; a Newport Grand, for example, weighs about 325 to 350 lb. The four filler panels add about 100 lb, and each surround is heavy-duty crated for FedEx Freight. If you can see damage at delivery, refuse the delivery or note the damage on the receipt, and send us photos within 24 hours. We handle the freight claim. Pieces damaged beyond repair are remade or replaced, and minor damage is repaired.

Yes. Approved trade partners get 10% off published list on every standard model. Custom and volume projects are quoted per project, and custom proposals with 2D drawings and 3D renderings arrive within two business days. Most applications take about three minutes, and you’ll have one person to call from spec through delivery.

Yes. We can make any standard model to the width, height and depth your opening needs, in any of our eight colors or in a color we match for you at a quoted price. A resized piece is a custom order: it takes six to eight weeks once the design is approved and the order is placed, and it can’t be returned once production starts. Oltre cast stone is made mainly of mineral materials: Portland cement, graded quartzite sand, silica fume, an admixture, and alkali-resistant glass fiber. It has not been tested to ASTM E136, so the firebox or insert maker’s clearances and your local code decide placement around the opening. It is made with a GFRC premix rated at 11,000 PSI, a higher rating than most architectural concrete. The formulation is GFRC (glass-fiber reinforced concrete), workable enough to cast crisp profile detail by hand and finished with the weight, grain, and look of natural stone.

There are sixteen standard models, from classical to modern: Newport, Verona, Monaco, Amalfi, Louis XV, Lucca, Florenza, New French and eight more. Every model comes in a Honed finish, and Travertine is available as a custom finish in the same six weeks (Louis XV comes in Travertine only). Pick from eight standard colors, or ask us to match a color you already have and we’ll quote it. Our $55 sample set lets you see all eight colors in your own light before you order. We also make three mantel shelves, Smooth, Chiseled and Wood-Grain, each in four lengths.

Oltre casts to ±1/16" on every dimension; typical variance runs 1/32" to 1/16". That is tight enough to fit a firebox opening cleanly. Send your opening dimensions with your project details and we confirm fit at proposal.

Yes. Every one of the sixteen standard models carries a published price on its product page, starting at $3,025. The three cast stone mantel shelves are priced the same way, starting at $750. Custom sizes, custom profiles, and volume work are quoted per project, since dimensions, finish, freight, and install all move the number. Approved trade partners get 10% off published list on standard models; custom and volume projects are quoted per project rather than discounted off a list price, because there is no list price to discount.

Yes, at the finish-grade end of it. Cast stone is architectural precast concrete: both are cement-based and cast in molds. Structural precast uses coarser aggregate and is judged on load; cast stone uses finely graded aggregate and mineral pigment to imitate cut stone, and is judged on appearance. If you are shopping for a precast concrete fireplace mantel, a cast stone mantel is the same product described at its architectural grade. Oltre casts in GFRC (glass-fiber-reinforced concrete), a lightweight, high-strength way to make it.

Standard models can be returned within fourteen days of delivery if they’re unused and undamaged. There’s a 25% restocking fee, and you cover the return freight and crating. Custom pieces (resized, recolored or built to your own spec) can’t be returned once production starts, because each one is cast for your project. We draw every order in 2D and 3D. Quoted projects receive the drawings with the proposal; for online orders, just ask. Either way, you can check the piece against your opening while it can still be changed. Dust with a dry, soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Never bleach, vinegar, lemon, or any acidic household cleaner. Cast stone is naturally porous; ours is wet cast and ships sealed, so the surface has low porosity. Reseal every five years indoors and every year outdoors. The finish develops a soft patina over time, which is part of the look. Treat it like fine furniture, not tile.
