Lead time, shipping, and install

How long does it take to receive a cast stone fireplace surround?
Six weeks for standard models, cast to order in Salem, Oregon and shipped nationwide. Three-week expedited at 35% above list (doesn't stack with trade-tier discounts). Hearths and exterior elements ship in about fifteen production days. The six-week window matches most rough-in schedules.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. Every standard model and custom commission ships nationwide via FedEx Freight, crated and palletized to your project dimensions. Handling: five business days after casting completes. Transit: five to seven business days within the continental U.S. Signature required at delivery, and we call ahead so the receiver is on-site.
Do you install the surround on site, or do I use my own contractor?
Salem-area installs come with a paid concierge add-on. Outside the Willamette Valley, we coordinate directly with the homeowner's general contractor or the trade partner's installer. Every order ships with installation drawings, a finish kit, and direct phone support. Most general contractors install a standard surround in a half-day with two installers.
How heavy are the cast stone pieces, and how are they crated?
Standard fireplaces weigh between 250 and 400 lb. The full surround weighs between 400 and 1,000 lb, and each surround is heavy-duty crated for FedEx Freight. Document transit damage at delivery, claim within 48 hours, and we remake the affected piece at no charge.

Trade, spec, and custom

Do you offer trade pricing for architects, designers, and builders?
Yes. Approved trade partners get 10% off published list on every standard model. Custom and volume work is quoted per project: model, dimensions, finish, freight, install. Quotes go out within one business day. You get one point of contact from spec through delivery.
Can architects download 3D files and install drawings?
Yes. Scaled CAD blocks, 3D files, dimensioned spec sheets, and installation drawings are available per model — email-gated, no trade application required. Request them from the spec library at /trade/spec-library and we email the package the same business day.
Can a standard model be resized or customized for my opening?
Every standard model resizes, recolors, and refinishes to your spec. Width, height, depth, and finish dial in to your opening. For deeper changes (new profiles, custom motifs, fully bespoke design), see the Custom Projects program.
How long does a fully custom cast stone project take?
Custom projects run eight to twelve weeks from design lock. Two weeks for designer collaboration and CAD review, two to four weeks for tooling, then six weeks for casting through freight. Expedited production is reserved for standard models; custom pieces are scheduled per project.

Materials, finishes, and dimensions

Is cast stone fire-rated, and how strong is it compared to natural limestone?
Yes. Oltre cast stone is non-combustible and fire-rated, tested at 11,000 PSI. Stronger than most architectural concrete; comparable to dense natural limestone. The formulation is GFRC (glass-fiber reinforced concrete), workable enough to cast crisp profile detail by hand and finished with the weight, grain, and look of natural stone.
How many standard models are in the collection, and what finishes are available?
Sixteen standard models span classical, transitional, and modernist profiles: Newport, Verona, Monaco, Amalfi, Louis XV, Lucca, Florenza, New French, and eight more. Every model ships in the limestone-tone base finish. Order the $55 eight-finish sample box first to approve color in person before we manufacture.
What are the dimensional tolerances on a cast stone surround?
Cast stone holds to roughly ±1/8" on overall surround dimensions and ±1/16" on critical opening dimensions. Tight enough to fit a firebox cleanly, generous enough to absorb site variation. For openings that demand tighter tolerances, we resize the model rather than shim on site. Send opening dimensions with your project details and we confirm tolerance at proposal.

Returns, warranty, and care

What is the return policy on a cast stone surround?
Standard collection products may be returned within fourteen days of delivery in original condition, with a 25% restocking fee. Custom-made products (resized, recolored, or built to non-standard spec) are non-returnable, since each piece is cast to order. Freight damage gets documented at delivery and replaced at no cost.
What warranty backs an Oltre cast stone surround?
Our cast stone surrounds carry a manufacturer warranty against defects in material and workmanship for the original purchaser. Call (503) 689-1088 with any warranty question. Most resolve in a single call.
How do I clean and care for a cast stone surround once installed?
Dust with a dry, soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Never bleach, vinegar, lemon, or any acidic household cleaner. Avoid sealing the surround unless directed; the finish develops a soft patina over time, which is part of the look. Treat it like fine furniture, not tile.
