Frequently asked questions.

Six questions architects, designers, and builders ask before applying.

How long does the trade application take?
Most people finish it in about three minutes, and we review every application within two business days. We just look at your credentials and the projects you have coming up; there’s nothing to negotiate.
What credentials qualify me?
Any one of: ASID, IIDA, AIA, NCIDQ, NKBA, or IDC membership; an active business EIN; a resale certificate; a valid business website; or a referral from an existing trade partner.
How is pricing handled?
Approved trade partners get 10% off published list on every standard model. Custom and volume projects are quoted per project, based on the model, size, finish and freight, and your proposal arrives within two business days.
What does trade approval unlock?
You get a direct line to our team, quotes built around your project, help with design and sizing, and a free color sample set (a $55 value) when you’re approved, plus more samples when a project needs them. You also get priority replies on active jobs and revisions. Your trade portal shows every order you’ve placed with us, with its production stage, target ship date, freight tracking and payment status. The spec library is open to everyone, no application needed: spec sheets and install guides are free to download, and we’ll email CAD blocks and 3D files on request.
Do you work with builders on volume, wholesale, or repeat orders?
Yes. Builders are one of the three trade audiences the program is built for. Approved partners get 10% off published list on every standard model, and volume work is quoted per project rather than off a fixed price break, so a ten-home spec is priced as a ten-home spec. Repeat specs are the easy case: once a model and finish are set, later phases reorder against the same shop drawings. Every quote includes shop drawings for your documentation set, pieces arrive crated and palletized to your project dimensions, and standard models ship free by FedEx Freight in the contiguous 48 states. Production is six weeks, with three-week expedited at 35% above list when a closing date moves.
What if my project needs a custom dimension?
Ask your account rep and we’ll draw it to your size. Custom work takes six to eight weeks once the design is approved and the order is placed. Custom pieces can’t be returned once production starts; standard models can be returned within 14 days of delivery, with a 25% restocking fee.
